We installed 13.51kWp of solar panels and two Tesla Powerwall 2 batteries (27kWh) of home battery storage. Why did we do it, and what did we find out after six months?

EDIT/CORRECTION: We were mostly off the grid from installation in June - I'm not sure why I said March (but March-September is the peak time for solar and when our installation should be generating nearly all of our needs).
